Acceptable Use Policy
Standards for appropriate use of the Service.

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) governs the use of Pax by all Organizations, administrators, staff, and congregation members with access to the Service. This AUP is incorporated into the Terms and Conditions and Subscription Service Agreement.
1. Intended Use
The Service is designed for use by churches, religious organizations, and faith-based nonprofits for legitimate organizational management, communication, and ministry purposes. Use of the Service is limited to these intended purposes.
2. Prohibited Activities
The following activities are strictly prohibited:
- Uploading, transmitting, or storing content that is unlawful, harassing, threatening, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable.
- Storing or transmitting content that infringes upon any copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property right.
- Sending unsolicited bulk communications (spam) via the SMS or email messaging tools.
- Collecting or harvesting personal data from congregation members without their knowledge or appropriate consent.
- Attempting to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service or any related system.
- Using the Service to distribute malware, viruses, or other harmful code.
- Accessing or attempting to access accounts or data belonging to other Organizations.
- Using the Service to engage in any form of fraud or deception.
- Uploading images of minors without appropriate consent from a parent or guardian.
3. Messaging Tool Standards
Organizations using the SMS and email messaging features agree to:
- Only send messages to individuals who have opted in to receive such communications.
- Provide clear identification of the sending Organization in all messages.
- Include an opt-out mechanism in promotional or regular newsletter-type communications.
- Comply with all applicable laws governing electronic communications, including the CAN-SPAM Act and the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).
4. Photo Directory Standards
Organizations using the Church Photo Directory feature agree to:
- Obtain appropriate consent before uploading photos of individuals, particularly minors.
- Use directory information only for internal organizational purposes and not for commercial purposes.
- Promptly remove any individual's photo or profile upon that person's reasonable request.
5. Prayer Request Standards
The prayer request features are intended to facilitate congregational prayer and support. Organizations agree to:
- Treat submitted prayer requests with appropriate confidentiality and pastoral care.
- Not store confessional, legally privileged, or deeply sensitive personal disclosures within prayer request entries.
- Obtain consent before sharing an individual's prayer requests with the broader congregation.
6. Enforcement
Violations of this AUP may result in the immediate suspension or termination of an account. The Company reserves the right to investigate suspected violations. The Company is not obligated to monitor Customer content but may do so to ensure compliance with this AUP or applicable law.
